This is the diaper cake that I made for Beth's shower. This is the first one I have made, and it was so fun and easy to do (especially since I talked DH into rolling the diapers for me(; )!
For the bands around the layers of the cake I used some of my chocolate chip Patterns DSP. I matted the strips with pink pirouette cs that I used the scalloped edge punch on. I died some of the white organza ribbon with pink pirouette reinker and tied it around the bands. I added some buttons from Button Latte (SU!) and some of the crocheted Fleurettes to the ribbon.
For the name down the side of the cake, I used my big shot and the Serif Essentials alphabet dies. I embossed several sheets of pink pirouette cs with iridescent ice. I attached the sheets to chipboard and ran it through the big shot, SUPER EASY!!!
The letters are connected with jump rings (they are used in making jewelry). I tied a piece of polka dot ribbon from the Valet ribbon originals around each ring. I attached the name to a bow (1-1/4" pink pirouette grosgrain ribbon) that I had tied around the giraffe's neck.
Thanks for looking!
