Thank you, Maggie's Mummy, for this week's challenge to make a demonstratable card using the stained glass technique. I've been embossing on vellum for several years, but did not know this technique had the name of stained glass. Fun technique to do and would be easy to demonstrate.
The hardest part is attaching the vellum piece to the white piece. So I used ribbon to cover my *goobers.* I realize this certain celery was part of the SAB bundle, but it's such a nice ribbon I have to continue using it. The Happy Thoughts circle in vellum was punched bigger and then cut little slits so that no adhesive would go on the front of the circle.
Thanks for looking.

Susie, this is a lovely card.
I really like how you did the ribbon corners. (My philosophy on ribbon is that it is the style, rather than the color, that is important in demonstrating, so it doesn't bother me that the Celery Polytwill is from SAB.)
Thanks for including a description of how you made the sentiment circle. I really like the effect of the slits and folding back. It adds great depth to your card.

Thanks for posting this card. I just got this butterfly and I know he has a lot of untapped (by me) potential.
I too will demonstrate with retired ribbon. I usually only do so if there is a "near enough equivalent" in the catty. In this case, Certainly Celery 5/8 grosgrain.
