Well, you know what I figured out about the weather. When the coast is clear, that's when you want to do your errands. Let's just say I got SOAKED yesterday. Today, it's suppose to snow.
I completed this card very early in the morning but I decided to upload it now. I kept falling asleep at the computer last night. Can you believe my twin sister (stamp300) and I chose the same inspiration?
Here is my story:
This is one of my favorite challenges. I always try to do them the time they come out so I can spend my Saturdays with my kids. The inspiration we were to choose to case came from Glenda Mosher Art Gallery. What a wonderful artist. Here is what inspired me: http://glendamosher.blogspot.com/sea...&max-results=6. It is the Spring Tulips.
I started out by using the bird call cb emboss folder onto watercolor paper with the smooth side as the top. I used my pastels (chalks) with the applicator to color on all the embossed areas. Then I went back over it using the prismacolor pencils lightly with the mineral spirits. Repeating this step until I got close enough to the look I wanted. I also sponged the b/g of the emboss image using my chalks. I tried to not have the bird in this card, but it didn't work out the way it was suppose to. I stamped the tulips from a very old SU set called Simply Spring 5 times with watermelon ink. I colored them using prismacolor pencils, added lightly black chalk, and a dab of white chalk. I cut each one out and they are held on with foam tape. I also added ribbon to complete the card. I used the piercing tool for the border of the kraft dp and added a few specs of red marks. Maybe I should of left those off. I stamped the sentiment, sponged with chalks, cut, and it is held on with foam tape too. I tried to get the bird off on the 1st attempt, didn't work out. The bird is colored with chalks and prismacolor pencils as well. Does it look ok here? This was fun to create. Thanks for the comments. Have a wonderful day!
What do you think?

WOW! Bonnie, that's the kind of look I wanted with the stems. I didn't even think of the CB folder. Love this sis. It's amazing how we decided on the same inspiration too.
