a few years back, my DP handed me a note he had written to a friend at his work. the note described how he was so grateful to this friend for having taught him how to successfully hit a softball 20-some years before, when they were "young" and on a work softball league together. the note went on to say how a seemingly small interaction can have consequences throughout someone's entire life, and how what a strong influence this friend had on him. as i read this note, my DP said, "my friend has cancer and he's dying. he's not expected to last much longer. would you make a card that i can put this note in?"
i had never made a "sorry we're losing you and thanks for the profound impact you've had on my life" card. i still cry when i tell this story.
i hope they both liked my card. i cased it out of the SU! catalog, i think....
CORRECTION: i cased this from cCherriINKPAD on stampers showcase (see below!). thanks!

OMGosh, I created that card for a SU Regional in Las Vegas around 3 or 4 years ago and it was posted on Stampers Showcase for about a year. Mine had love stamped twice and and I used canvas on the background in addition to the bamboo, and I used gold cord on the edges. I'm so flattered that you used it and I hope it brings your dear friend comfort. TFS
