This project is for the monthly DD/DDA challenge. Holly (Toy) is hosting our challenge today and here are the requirements.
Challenge Focus: A CASE of one of your oldest cards. change at least three things on your card (i.e. different colors, different stamps, different embellishments), but we want to be able to see the subtle changes.
Required Element: Change at least three things on your card (subtle).
Restricted Element: None! The sky is the limit on this one!!
I chose to case the third card I have uploaded in my gallery. It was for WT18 and we were to use tearing on our project. Here is a link to my card. Loads of Love by kittie747 at Splitcoaststampers Isn't it sad? All of us have been moaning and groaning about having to draw attention to one of our earliest projects. Needless to say we have all improved a little on our skill over time. I have to add a note here for new stampers. If you want to grow in your stamping skills just play in as many weekly challenges as you can. I believe I have learned everything I know from my participation over the last 3.5 years.
I wasn't surprised that the first couple of projects in my gallery were done with Loads of Love. It's one of my all time favorites. I used the tearing technique for my project today but created a beach and water scene with it. I replaced the little Christmas trees from the original card with surf boards that I drew myself. I changed the color combination but still used a little post sign for embellishment. If you want more information on how I created this card check out my blog. http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kitti...challenge.html

Kittie, your cards are always outstanding!! I love this so much and it reminds me so much of when I lived in California in the 70's. I used to skip HS and go to the beach to watch the surfers....secretly hoping one would see me....silly girl! Thanks for sharing!!

Your old card cracks me up, so typical of many of our early works!! I had my share of those. I totally agree, participating in all those challenges stretched and grew our skills. Look at us now!! I love this re-done version, the surfboards rock!!

Oh Kittie! I {heart} this update and I {heart} YOU!! I think your original is just darling, but the surfboards are outta this world! You have definitely grown and I agree with the challenges thing. I would probably still be scanning cards if not for all the lovely photography on this site!
Love you, girl!
