Ok, ladies...it has been another interesting day for our kids Spring Break. They really didn't want to go bowling as planned yesterday, but instead we flew kites. You should of seen us trying to chase a kite that had taken off out of our hands. We actually started chasing it...what were we thinking? It landed 3 miles north of us on a utility pole stuck on the wires just flying away as if someone was holding the kite. My dh went back this morning, the kite isn't there. Darn, that was my favorite kite. Oh well!
Here is my story:
I was already working on swap cards last night and took a break and made this card for the Ways to Use it Challenge for today. We were to use stickers on our cards. but I was too tired at 3am to upload it. I've also been wanting to try Tami's Trifold card, so it worked out perfectly.
I followed Tami's tutorial in the Resources here on SCS using the Scor-Pal. I started out by using double sided dp as the base of the card and made sure the flowers was going to be the outside. I had to tweak the next part of Tami's tutorial because I didn't have the circle cutter she mentioned, so I used the cm circle cutting system to make the cutout circle (make sure you have the card opened up all the way, so you are not cutting through all the layers) Then I used the scallop circle and regular circle punches for the outer edge of the circle that is on the front of this card. Adhered. I stamped the phrase from Friendship Grows with black ink, matted, and it is held on with foam tape. I added 3 stickers with foam tape to the top of the circle and glitter for the centers of the flowers.
The inside of the card:
I stamped the image onto white c/s with black ink. I colored the image using prismacolor pencils, baby oil, and blending stumps. I added specs of glitter to the flowers and her hair barrette. I sponged around the image using blue ink, green ink, and added a small sun to the corner of the scene. Punched out using a larger scallop circle punch. Adhered. I used a small flower punch for the one little flower on the front and the 3 flowers on the inside. I stamped the phrase from a CTMH stamp set to the inside of the back flap with black ink as well.
The center of the card where you see white, is the scanner. The little girl's image is covering that hole up once its closed.
Thanks for taking the time to view my card. Have a wonderful day. Sorry for the long post.
