Here's what I put together for this week's MFT Idol competition. This week's theme was to make something that CELEBRATED our joy of having been picked to be in the top 10 of MFT Idol.
The idea behind this banner is to showcase all the feelings, emotions, terror and anxiety that go along with being an MFT Idol contestant. Being a contestant is FANTASTIC, but there is also a LOT of stress involved with it. So that's what this banner is all about!
I paper-pieced nearly the entire banner, with hints of Copics, Glossy Accents, and Puffy Paint here and there. I think I must have used about 15 different MFT sets to create this baby (but mixing sets is the best part!)! The DP is all by Scenic Route. To make the banners, I first cut large triangles from the DP. Then I hand punched a ton of circles, and glued them to the back, so the pennants would have a scalloped border. Then I sewed around the edges (yes, mom, I actually sewed!) before attaching it all to chipboard triangles for stability.
This banner is going to hang in my house until the contest is over. When it's all over, I'm sending this baby to the MFT IDOL! In the very lucky chance that I win, I'll be sending it to Kim.
