This was initally a Hello Kitty swap (a member's daughter is hosting), but it was later changed to a more wide spectrum, Cats, Dogs and Bunnies I think it was. I thought it would be fun to stick with the theme. Problem was... inspiration was hard to come by for this 40 year old mother of a teenage son.
Oh how I worked on this card. I tried it, I undid it, I tried something else, I undid it. The only thing I was set on was that I wanted to create the ribbon base for my Hello Kitty to sit upon. It is a piece of hard cardstock with a cross grain ribbon wrapped upon it 4 times. And although it was indeed the first one I started (finished and took apart) it was probably finished around 4th or 5th. From the beginning it was meant to infer "Everybody Loves Hello Kitty. And I guess that's what my running them with this Hello Kitty swap has turned out to be. Placement of the Hello Kitty lettering was obvious as the ribbon wrapped kitty was already snuggly in place. And I liked how the wording fit just at the correct angle and length for the card. But then what? The hearts I'd been using, how could I incorporate that without losing the whites of my floral paper? Only one choice, the corner, nd tucked nicely underneath the lettering, and tilted just the tiniest in the right direction and I was pleased. All I needed was the finishing touch. A heart flower eye! If I'd had a heart brad handy I would have used it however, I did not and so I have used a sticker. The ribbon is the lone embellishment.
