My friend and I finished the first clean and simple card I had planned today (it was my first card for this challenge) so I had to find a quick one to do and found this one from LateBlossom who used wiggydl's layout. Thanks for the inspiration ladies!
Well, once we decided on colors and paper for the butterflies we then couldnÂ’t decided on the color for the embossed layer and finally settled on green but then we didnÂ’t like the red so decided the blue would go better for the butterflies and before we knew it we had wasted half an hour just choosing colors and what CB folder to use. Oh yeah, she messed up her sentiment and we had to cover it with a Nestabilities die cut. A lesson learned: with a new stamper always stamp the sentiment first!
I did a second card with the red butterflies we punched first and it took sixteen minutes to make just the card.
A tip for the gems: I squeeze out the adhesive onto sticker paper that wonÂ’t absorb it, touch a long straight pin to the adhesive then to the back of the gem and itÂ’ll pick it up, place on the card surface and press your finger down and pull the pin out. You may have to slide the gem over but itÂ’s a very quick way to work with them.
I have been asked about the embossing on the circles so here's some info:
I used the Cuttlebug folder Floral Fantasy and you can see it here and you'll see the pattern in the circle in the upper left corner.
I die cut the circle, lined it up on the folder and embossed.
Or you could emboss that area first then punch but I don't have a 1" punch.
It's a good thing you weren't working with me or we would still be there trying to decide what paper to use (lol)! I'd say you two had a very productive afternoon--great card, Rox!
