Good morning! My husband wants to know how I function on 3 hours sleep. Here I am again. It was about 10:30 when I started to fall asleep on the couch, so my son asked me if I was going to do the inspiration challenge. I said yes. He says, well its on now. I flew off the couch and said, WOW! Hmmm...ok, interesting!
Here is my story:
When I browsed the gallery of Artfull Bras Project for the Inspiration Challenge, I knew which one I wanted to make. The bras are to inform people of breast cancer and created by quilters. I chose the Buttons and Bows and Boobs on Page 1. Here is the image. http://www.quiltersofsc.org/artfullbras/IMG_3721.jpg One thing when I do an inspiration challenge, I like to create what that inspiration looks like or similar. Maybe I am confused, am I suppose to make something from the colors or designs. I found a template online from here http://blueyecicle.blogspot.com/2008...rie-cards.html but drew the boob section myself. You are not going to believe this, I got my husband out of bed to help me with the template on the computer. He's like, you got to be kidding...what time is it? On with the story. I made a template and placed on the fold onto caramel c/s. Cut out. I made another template for the front piece only so I can work from it. I hand drew the boobs by drawing the line out from the fold. Traced and cut out onto blue c/s. I dumped all my buttons out on the table, and what a mess that was! I used tacky tape to attach the ribbon for the straps and the top edge of the bra. I quickly sprayed the blue c/s with spray adhesive and attached the buttons randomly. Attached to brown c/s. I then took my cheap spool o' ribbons that I got from garage sales, made tiny bows and attached using glue dots. Once the bra was finished, I attached it to the card base. I added a few more buttons for a layered look. The 2 pink buttons on each side are threaded through the holes using ribbon because I couldn't find the embroidery floss. I was actually done making this card about 3:00am, but my camera was dead so I wasn't able to take a picture of it. I cleaned my stamp room in the mean time. This makes the card a 5x7. Thanks for the challenge. It was fun to create. Thanks for looking and your comments. Have a wonderful Saturday.
What do you think? It's really not all that heavy either. It may appear that way in the photo, but really it isn't.
I chose Creamy Caramel as my chest because of my tan that I usually keep year around.
I also want to apologize for the spots you see on the chest, those are from the camera chip...haven't had time to take it to the camera doctor yet. Please look past that. Thank you!
Bonnie

Wow, Bonnie, an all nighter but really cool card. I hope I get to play at it later today.
