This challenge is the perfect opportunity to use this image that I was sent by sweet Peggy (aka Marilyn Prestonn) and friends. I loved it when it arrived and have just waited for inspiration to hit. Really, it is quite beautiful in itself so I just wanted to accentuate this tribal woman's beauty.
I remember a documentary we watched regarding an African tribe where the ladies used to decorate themselves with the dry rich coloured dust, using it to beautify their hair and their faces...I used that show for my inspiration for this card. I used chalks in mustard and eggplant, using them both wet and dry has given me the light and shade which was needed. I mounted the image on textured card with a torn edge and added purple brads and also purple fringing under the image, which doesn't show up in the photo, but IRL it adds a richness....and of course the completed piece is attached to black card stock...fulfilling the challenge.
Thanks for looking, I would be interested to know what you think!!!

So lovely, I wish I could have braids like that though. You made her look so good. You did so good with this image. The fact that I never tried it does say alot. TFS

This turned out great. These types of images are a challenge. I love this one. The colors you chose are what I would imagine them wearing. Super job...
