I think this began because of a boo-boo. I had stamped the Flannel Plaid in white on black cardstock and I guess I sprayed it with a little water. Anyway, it looked horribly 'bad'. So I put that piece to the side. I grabbed the Pocket Silhouette set - this is one of my favorites - and being silhouettes, I thought using black or Basic Gray ink. I stamped these three images on white, cut them out and placed them on black and cut close for an 1/8 inch border.
Then I grabbed that messed up piece and decided I would try making something out of it by punching my favorite butterfly out of it to see what it would look like. Well, I fell in love with the muted look. The rest of the card is history!
The base is white. A large piece of black was placed at the top. Leaving a small space, I took a piece of CB Dotted Swiss black scrap and placed near the bottom. This may be a little hard to see being it's black. A one inch circle was punched out of some scrap and placed at the top and white ink was sponged onto the circle giving a soft glowing moon.
The stamped panels were raised with dimensionals and raised before placing on the card. Then the butterflies took another transformation. The wings were raised to give a 'flutter' look to them. By this time, I'm realizing that there needs something to make it pop. So the black Stickles came out! A few 'berries' were touched with it as well as one of the flowerettes on the left panel. Stickles were added to the body of the butterflies and waaa-laaah...it was finished.
