The seventh challenge of the January Mini “Crush” VSN was to use a romantic movie as the inspiration for a card. I made the mistake of reading through the list of romantic movies that hostess Judy (Disneywed) provided a link to. I couldn’t settle on one so I asked my husband what was his favorite movie and he immediately responded, “Memoirs of a Geisha”. I should have known… we’ve watched it several times and he picked up a hard cover copy of it at a used book store we were browsing through.
I stamped the image twice, once in black and a second time in Versamark which I then embossed with Detail Gold embossing powder, then cut and pieced together. I fashioned a fan from a paper umbrella decorative food pick. I layered gold embossed and distressed edge layers of red and ribbed ivory card stock.
If IÂ’d had more time I would have embossed the red card stock with the Cuttlebug and re-stamped the image in black and embossed her with clear embossing powder to give her hair some added depth.
