It was a pretty busy night for me. I had to take my 8yr to his 50's dance for about an hour. You know that he won the hoola hoop contest for his grade level of all the girls? He was really impressing the girls too. They were standing there with their mouths to the floor, like NO WAY! Then I dropped him off at a friends house, while my older son and I went to stamp at the church (stamp camp) until 10:30. I was tired. Anyways, I couldn't wait to see what the inspiration challenge was going to be, those are my favorites. We were to use an inspiration from PB Teen and this is what I chose. This pillow really caught my eye. http://www.pbteen.com/products/p3611...rative-pillows. As I was making this, I could barely keep my eyes open...I kept pushing myself. Here is my story. I think you already know that I like to be different in making things to look like the actual picture and I started out with the idea of the heart. I took my heart template and traced it 4 times, one on each of the colors of old olive, 2 brown, and white c/s. Cut out. I cut the white heart with the decorative scallop scissors (which isn't easy to do) outside the traced line to have the scallop stick out. I cut 2 pieces of pink c/s and made cream dots with a cream colored pencil. I made a small fold on the pink for each side to stick to both the green and brown hearts. I used my white galaxy pen to make dots all over the brown heart. I made a zig zag folded piece of c/s to attach so the heart for the inside middle to have an opening. (like a pouch) I attached another piece of the brown heart onto the white scallop heart and layered it on the bottom brown heart. I stamped the center white heart from the Hearts and Poises stamp set with white ink onto light pink c/s and filled the open spaces with the white sharpie pen. I made my own red zig zags on the heart. I stamped another heart onto blue watercolor dp, used used the white gel pen for the lines, and cut out. Next I used the cb swiss dots folder. When I was making this pouch, I thought it would be a good idea for our bedroom door. So I added some pink ribbon, tied a knot at the bottom, and brought it straight up to the top, and tied in a knot. This morning, I stamped the sentiments with Studio G alphabets and colored in the letters. Cut out and mounted. This was fun to do and can't wait to try another one when I am awake. Do you think it looks like the pillow? Thanks for looking and a great day!
Sorry for the light on the left side, it is really white and the ribbon is off color too, darn it. I had to hang it from my light box to get a decent picture. Please look past this. Thank you!

This turned out great. I really like the colors. This is what my daughters would hang on their door. They forget who pays the mortgage sometimes. Super job. Great idea...

This is so creative. Great job. I love the idea of the do not disturb sign. When my daughters were really little, my oldest daughter who was 2 1/2 put a do not disturb sign on her sister who was 3 months old while she was asleep. It is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken.
