I made this for my sister, who is nuts for Christmas! I had never used Foam Core Board before and it was a little tricky learning how to cut it. Best way for me was a very sharp rotary cutter blade!
I mounted the 1" strips on the foam core first, then cut 7/8" strips again....not on the seams. Then cut into 7/8" squares and mounted.
I left the one square open and had a old snowflake button that I cut the shank off of and mounted.
I had to have 2 mats cut because the frame I bought at Michael's did not have the one I wanted in it. That was the pricest part of the gift.
I hand wrote the words that will mean something to Lisa. And on the back I wrote why I was giving it to her and the date, of course.
