I wish that it was daytime when I took a photo of this layout because the lighting isn't doing it justice...but I didn't want to wait to upload it If you want to see a better view of the photographs I used on this layout, see here: http://snapdragonchristy.blogspot.co...an-donuts.html
Page base is Sahara Sand with Bordering Blue borders (hehe) and Night of Navy mats. I used the sketch on p. 133 of the Best of Becky Higgins sketches for this one, once I found that sketch it just all seemed to fall in place and I'm so pleased with how this turned out. I used some small swirls from Stars & Swirls, the first SU stamp set I ever bought, on the borders and embossed them with clear EP (I wanted a tone-on-tone look but don't have Bordering Blue craft ink yet, guess what's going on my next SU order...) At first I was going to do flowers on the borders, but then I thought "I always do flowers" so I stared at the photos for a while and decided that swirls would be a good idea because there are swirls on the shishi dogs' beards. So happy I did that instead. The title is hand cut and after I cut it out I thought DANGIT I should have made the title be "Made in Japan" but I didn't want to cut out a whole nother title, so I stamped the subtitle on there.
This one got a pretty enthusiastic DH seal of approval, I think he liked it really well because these colors make up about 95% of his wardrobe *snicker*
