Hi! This card was made for today's Inspiration Challenge:Cake Nouveau. I chose the BLUE Ocean Cake found on this page-FOURTH ROW DOWN, the Fourth Cake from the Left: http://cakenouveau.com/cakes3.html
This afternoon....AFTER a day of shopping, (Hey, did I tell you Hobby Lobby had a sale?!) I decided to listen to some of our old Disney DVD's while I cleaned. I LOVE the songs from Little Mermaid and I sang, (VERY OFF KEY...), so loudly that Mark and Markie went OUTSIDE! Even Speedy the Cat resorted to hiding with the rest of the four legged COWARDS under my bed while I danced around singing, "Undah da Sea.....Undah da Sea...." in my best Sabastian the Crab voice!
So, when I saw this cake, I KNEW I had to made a card with it as inspiration!
The backgrounds were stamped with a floral image from Treehouse Stamps' Lovely Lily! I used it to look like sea weed...The sea horses, scallop and starfish are from a Cuttlebug Die. I cut out the sea horses and ran them through the crimper so that I could get some texture. Then, I rubbed them with a Close to Cocoa pad to darken areas. I sponged the starfish I sponged 3 colors onto the scallop. The Sand Dollar is a Martha Stewart punch. I added pearls as air bubbles!
