My grandfather was Swedish and my grandmother Danish. I remember their house being filled with all sorts of craft objects and wall plaques covered in gorgeous rosemaling.
My color scheme was inspired by a the Norwegian Rogaland style (http://www.rosemaling.org/r_style.htm) instead of true Swedish rosemaling, but I threw the orange into the color scheme in honor of all those rosemaled Dala horses that I used to play with.
I stamped the tree in white craft ink on WW cardstock, then embossed it with white powder. The tree is colored in with Su markers, then cut out and adhered with dimensionals.

Oh so gorgeous and striking! My mom and grandparents on my mom's side were Icelandic, and though I don't remember the fabulous colours I see here - I certainly recognize the filliagree style of the tree!

Absolutely beautiful. Although I'm scandinavian only by marriage <smile> (I'm really scottish and german), I am drawn to your card - you did a lovely job with the colors.

Love the colors! And I've seen the dala horses in Lindsborg, KS, not far from where I live in Wichita! (Although my favorite thing Scandinavian is pepperkakor, LOL!)
Great job coloring, I just bought this set, and I'll be inspired by your work.
