A few years back, before I learned how much fun rubber stamping was, my craft of choice was tole painting. DH didn't much like all the painting on three quarter wood! So I switched to clay tiles. They were too heavy. So, after playing around on a card earlier this week, it stirred my interest in painting. So today, instead of stamping, I painted this little scene on w/c paper. I got the pattern from two different books. Used acrylic paints and re-inkers. Here is what I used for my inspiration: http://www.whimsypress.com/detail_po...=229&side=back
After painting and popping up the little red bird, I popped the main panel up on a white card that I sponged bashful blue and put puff paint sponged with whisper white. Added the snow dots with a stylus dipped in white paint.
Hope you like this. It was so relaxing for me to paint this, except it takes my eyes awhile to re-focus back to normal after such close work..........TFL :0)

I've always known you were a painter from the first time I remember seeing your work in the galleries...Cathy, this one I put in my favorites for many reason, I have a thing about windows and the pots...I remember thinking how awesome that card was. You see I am not a painter, but I so admire the playful spirit those artists have. Your card today is delightful...I can just read the joy it gave you by your words. Great piece for the IC and an extra thanks for inspiring me on a daily basis!

Well, just one more talent you just had to show me, didnt you. BTW, have you ever taken any art classes at ARC? I would have to think finding SCS must have been such a great thing for you ~ allowing you to do what is obviously a passion and a tremendous talent! This is just as sweet as they come, my friend. Great colors; great image!
