I found a recipe for lemon scented bath salts on the internet a while back and thought it would make a great craft sale item. Unfortunately the craft sale fell through but I have lots of gifts ready to go for Christmas! The idea probably isn't all that unique, but I was happy with how they turned out and the bath salts smell divine!

So are you going to share the recipe, or do we have to search on our own? These look lovely. I think whoever you give them to will like them as well. Who doesn't want a pampering gift?

Lemon Scented Bath Salts
1 cup of Epsom Salts
1/2 teaspoon Lemon Oil
2 or 3 drops of yellow food coloring
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stirring well to distribute the color and fragrance. Set aside overnight. Stir again and pour into a decorative jar. Makes one cup.
For a layered look, divide the epsom salts into two bowls. Add 1/4 teaspoon lemon oil to each bowl. Add 2 drops of lemon food coloring to one of the bowls. Stir each bowl thoroughly to distribute the color and scent, set aside overnight, then layer the two colors in a jar.
To use, add one or two tablespoons to warm bath water.

Thanks for the interest and all the great comments. There are any number of recipes available, but for those who've asked for mine, here's what I mixed together.
The basic recipe calls for 1 part Coarse Sea Salt and 2 parts Epsom Salt plus a few drops of coloring and scent of choice.
I also found a couple recipes that called for baking soda which apparently makes your skin feel really soft so I gave that a try.
My final blend consists of:
1- 24oz container of sea salt
4 cups of Epsom salt
1/2 of a box of baking soda
6-8 drops of yellow coloring
10-12 drops of lemon oil or lemongrass scented oil.
The last two items can be found at Michaels or JoAnn with their soap making supplies. The brand I used was Life of the Party.
Thanks again for looking! Enjoy
