I'm back and I have a question. Let me set the scene, first.
My DH and I try to have lunch together as often as possible. And today was no different, though right in the middle of a bite of my cornbread, the concept of this card pops into my head! And it was like I couldn't wait to hurry up and get finished with lunch so I could bring it to life. Does this happen to any of you? Are we sic...or what???? Do tell!
With my DS coming home for Thanskgiving, gas $$$ is always welcome. I just couldn't resist using Artistic Outpost's fun gas pump, flying Pegasus, and home stamps. I inked the pump in Palette charcoal ink and embossed very lightly in clear. I went over the hoses and top of the tank with black embossing. It is mounted on foam. The card base is from the new Brazzill christmas pack which goes with the Basic Grey pad from Michaels. I love the greens in it. The map paper is from Stampingstation...quite detailed with counties, rivers, cities..Sam looks much closer to us this way...just a hop, skip, and a jump up the 5! I finished my gift card with a 7 gypsies red metal arrow and Karen Foster screw brad. I'll point the way home, just in case anyone might forget!!!!
Thanks for taking a peak!

Susan, how funny that you wanted to bolt up from your lunch to create! LOL! I do it all the time! Even when we're at the movies, I've been known to sneak out and sketch in the hallway....Most of the time it happens at the BEST part of a movie, too! LOL!
During a particular AWESOME scene in the last Indiana Jones movie, I jumped up, ran to the hallway, sketch out a scrapbook page and ran back to my seat...Markie asked, *Card or scrapbook page? LOL!
FANTASTIC card! I love those images and the Pegasus reminds me of the OLD Texaco??? stations, I think....
Thanks for the insight into your CREATIVE PROCESS!!!

That's an absolutely perfect card - it's wonderful when something comes together so well, so satisfying. Great guy feel to the card, too.
I remembered you were from Oregon, and now I see it must be Eugene. That's where my sis and her husband spent most of their time when they visited the West Coast some years back.

Wow! I just love your take on this technique. And what a nostalgic trip it is for me seeing as Washington is my home state. Love that gas pump image too and also another bit of nostalgia as I remember that being Associated Gas logo! Oh my, really showing my age here!!! LOL TFS

Oh can I relate. One to thinking about nothing but an idea for a card. Like no sleep until I can figure out what I want to do. Second the trip from school to mom's house seems long at times. LOVE this gift card idea. Great job Susan. Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Hope he is home soon.
