Making this card has been a pleasure for me, I have combined the Technique and Colour Challenge but also made it in memory of my Great Aunt who passed away this morning, in her early 90's. It was a lovely way to reflect on her life and also to be a bit of 'therapy' for me. The Triangle Fold Medallion worked beautifully here and I put this lovely old button in the middle of it and it resembled the broaches that my Great Aunt and Nana both used to wear - they have become heirlooms, so this was very fitting!
The Textured Texiles EF is my favourite and immediately added an older charm to the card (in my opinion) I was determined I was not making this a sympathy card, I have made enough of those in the past 18 months, having lost 6 family or close friends...Memories was the way to go...a celebration of a beautiful life and so much to be grateful for.
The colours were perfect for what I wanted to achieve, although not being a SU girl I didn't have the exact colours, so have gone as close as I can to them, instead of craft I used brown paper from the centre of a roll of gift wrap, the depth of the red doesn't show up well in the photo, but this paper is from the inside of an envelope that I have been saving for ages, the lace is from an old placemat, coloured in coffee....it is quite a fete in recycling really - yay!!
I hope you like this...thanks Lynn and Emily for the challenges, they really helped me today...thanks for looking and your encouragng comments...you bless me!

Linda, you are amazing using all that recyclable material and merging it into an awesome and beautiful vintage style memorial for your dear aunt. You have beautifully mastered this medallion technique which I won't even attempt. Your colors are gorgeous. What an honoring tribute. Thank you for sharing your story and card.

Cool! I like how you edged the folding papers in black and the beautiful button in the center! This does have an heirloom look to it, with the button and the lace edge. I am so glad you could honour your aunt this way.
