I thought about how I wanted to scrap these photos for a long time, since I wanted to capture the mood of the pictures and incorporate the denim and crushed pink velvet of her dress. Once I got started, these took me way too long to finish, but IÂ’m happy with how they turned out. And gee, I think I completed a ton of challenges:
SBVC49 Faux Sheers (Quote and date journaling spots)
SBVC50 Painted shapes (Painted photo edges & velvet paper)
SBVC22 Plates & Pleats (Ribbons)
SBVC38 Velvet Accents (Photo corners-I Cuttlebug-embossed pink velvet paper, then painted it—it has a really cool look IRL)
IFC14-Using Quotes (see quote below).
- I probably fulfilled a scallops and pink challenge too, but I decided 5 challenges were enough to list!
My camera didn't do a very good job capturing the look of these pages, but I can't seem to get a good shot, so I'll just have to settle for these pics.
- I drew the bird shapes from a smaller stamp I have, then cut them out and paper-pieced the wings and beaks.
- The quote and date borders are from a digi-kit. I also used tiny scallop decorator scissors to cut around the edge of the quote.
Journaling Quote: “A Baby Girl…one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know, and one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in your world today.” (author unknown)
My journaling: *I love how tender and sweet you are here with your baby. And that's the same way I feel about you. You bring me so much joy. Love, Grandma*
