I was given a beautiful fall skirt & jacket combo as a hand-me-down (you can see part of them in the photo). I just fell in love with the color combinations in the skirt! I saw: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, and Rose Red! (The photo makes it look as if there is some purple in there too, but there isn't. I think it's from the camera flash.) Ever since I got the outfit I've wanted to attempt making a background paper inspired by it. TODAY I finally got around to it.
Since I lack paisley stamps and most of the other patterns I see in that skirt, I decided to just give it my best shot using Baroque Motifs and one stamp from Timeworn Trim...and a whole lot of stippling. The end result is lighter than the skirt; maybe I should go back and add some Close to Cocoa stippling. (But my brush is about worn down to a nub....)
Now what to do with this background paper?! That'll be a project for another day!

Me again. I later decided that the paper looked too blotchy, and the More Mustard showed through too brightly. So I took Close to Cocoa ink and brayered over it before creating cards out of it.
