I made this card for Inspiration Challenge IC150. For this challenge we were referred to the Etsy Store of the artist Joom. I chose THIS PILLOW as my inspiration piece. Reading the description of the pillow threw me, as it described the pillow as being in brown and pale aqua. However, the colors appeared as deep eggplant and silvery gray on my monitor, and since I loved that color combination, thatÂ’s what I used for colors for this project.
I essentially recreated the pillow into a sympathy card for some friends who lost a family member this week. I stamped the bird and the sentiment “In Sympathy and in Friendship” in silver on the deep purple card stock and embossed them in silver. I cut the bird out, and cut an oval around the sentiment, which I then matted on the gray card stock.
I trimmed the edge of the gray cardstock with a FiskarÂ’s edging punch and ran the purple through a Cuttlebug embossing folder to get a bird and branch embossed background. I mounted the purple bird on the gray side of the card and the sentiment in the right lower corner. I stamped a message of sympathy and a small bird and butterfly in purple inside the card.
