I have been so busy this weekend trying to get all my "piles" picked up on my craft table, plus the usual house work and book work, that I hadn't planned on doing a card. But, after putting my new stamp sets together I decided to take a break and play with them.
So I stamped my new seasonal whimsy stamp, versa marked it and clear ep. Then I thought wouldn't a bare tree go well on these snowy hills I drew. So instead of looking through all my stamps for just the right tree, I went two steps further and actually carved my first home drawn stamp.
I had seen this stuff on the MS show where you could make your own carved stamps. I went to the web site and ordered the materials, but after I received them I was too intimidated to try it so I put them away. Well during my cleaning, I found them again so today I gave it a try. It really wasn't that hard either. In fact it was fun and easy.
The two white trees and one blue tree are stamped with my first real stamp. I know, I have made other small stamps, but they were just done by cutting out shapes from left over rubber, or pencil eraser tops. This one was actually carved, so......what do you think? Should I try making more stamps?....That's it for today, back to cleaning! LOL.......TFL :0)

Nutmeg, so now you're into carving your own stamps. Okay then. Whatever, but to say it was fun and easy might be just going over the edge a little, dont you think! I mean who the heck just happens to go around carving their own stamps?
Your creativity just totally amazes me. BTW, this is a really darling card with some fantastic trees and a beautiful new image! way to go, girl!

This is wonderful, Cathy! I love your hand carved stamp. I used carve my own all the time, but haven't in a long while. You may just have inspired me to do some again. Great job!
