I got my favorite picture of my Translation friends and I, which was taken at Annick's wedding. Her wedding was in September and the theme was Fall, so I used the Frosty Day papers that had fall colors along with the Big Shot Leaves #2 die and went to town.
The frame is a wooden box frame I got at the dollar store last year when I was trying to find cheap stuff I could alter. It had been sitting in the closet ever since. Which is why I love VSNs - it always kicks my butt in gear to do those techniques or projects that always get pushed to the back burners.
Anyway, the frame wasn't dyed or painted, so I mixed some brown acrylic paint with copper Pearl Ex to create a shimmery paint for the frame. It looks great in person! You can sort of see the shimmer in the close-up picture. (It's too bad that Pearl Ex doesn't photograph well, it looks so nice in person.)
Part of the reason I was so excited about getting the Big Shot was the possibility to make my own chipboard pieces! That's what I did for the front of the frame: I cut the maple leaf out of chipboard and patterned paper to make the leaf more sturdy. Best part: no sanding required!!!
I finished the look off with a rub-on on the glass of the frame. It adds a nice dimension.

I really love what you've done with this! The color scheme is SO fall and your leaves look great. My favorite part is the way you've placed the picture at an angle -- it really catches your eye! Thanks for playing!
