I don't know what came over me today, but I decided to make a departure and do a pseudo-collage card. Was feeling a little Western Indian, I guess.
So here is my feather card. I really can't say this is Indian because the papers are from all over the map. The orange and gold are handmade Asian papers, the Mulberry is from a small village on the legendary Silk Road in China, the white paper is Japanese handmade paper. The purple is handmade but I have no idea where it was made. Blah, blah, blah.
I layered the papers, stitched the colors on the bottom of the card, then highlighted with a gold gel pen. Added fun yarn, beads, pearl fabric paint, then the feathers.
Attached real shells to the feather base with fine hemp twine. Stitched a little more with the hemp twine. Then gave the orange a wash of the pearl to cover a glaring mistake!
I'm not sure if I like it, but it was a grand adventure to go outside my comfort zone!
Thanks for looking!

Divine Ms. M, this is wonderfully unique and so fabulous with all those textures. There's so much too look at with this one! What a beauty. sometimes, it's a good thing to think outside the box: This is proof positive of that!
