I just had to do a second card for the Featured Stamper Challenge as an homage to Anne.
As everyone has surely shared already, Anne leaves the sweetest, most encouraging comments! Just yesterday I made a card for a challenge which didn't feature the obvious elements of watercoloring or an Asian influence. And bless her heart, Anne still commented on my card!
I noticed that Anne is fond of Asian-influenced cards. So this is for you Anne, with my thanks (please PM me with your mailing address).
I stamped the background design on a light gold shimmery paper and embossed it in black. (I had difficulty with keeping it square and ended up having to piece the bg, sigh.) Wrapped a black ribbon around the center, topped it with black and gold Japanese washi paper. Topped that with Asian coins mounted on squares (Cuttlebugged center square with Swiss Dots). Then scattered smaller Asian coins with red silk cord to mimic Anne's beautiful spray of pearls and beads in the card I cased.
As per usual, the pic isn't staggering. But it was a joy to make this for Anne.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Oh - I absolutely love the color combination and the stamps used in this card. These are all my favorite colors. And, of course, because I love all Asian themes. Thank you for sharing.

I am so speechless, which is very rare thing for me to experience. Yes, I'm totally all about asian, and to be perfectly honest, if our fellow stampers loved asian as much as I do, all my cards would be asian. This is just gorgeous and so worthy of being in the NY Metro Museum of Art. Look at all those fabulous coins and the paper behind them....oh wow, talk about gorgeous. Girl, you've won my heart! This is totally striking and gorgeous at the same time. I just cant find the words to express how much I appreciate your work and your talent. Thanks so much for your kind words and especially for creating a card that is so close to my passion. This is just fabulous! Thanks so much for taking time to do yet another card, and one that just makes my heart sing! Thanks again for playing. This is definitely a keeper, girl!
