boy these are adorable! I really love the colors. If you wanted to add something simple, you could use a small punch to make a hole at the bottom left corner of the cupcake piece then tie a knot of ribbon. It wouldn't take much ribbon but would look nice against the dp. It really is super cute just like you have it!

This card is so adorable! I love the frosting on the cupcake! The only thing I would want to add is something signifying that it is your daughter's First Birthday. I have seen some decorator paper with ones on it, it may have been doodlebug, that would be cute too!

I'd recommend a scallop edge along the right side of the cupcake - maybe in either black or white. Also I think a ribbon in the middle of the DSP on the other side of the cupcake would add alot. Color in the candle flame and use crystal effects or glitter to off-set it. If you have circle punches; a circle layer could look cute along the bottom left of the cupcake layer. It could say "please come", "you're invited" or "it's a party". You could computer generate whatever sentiment you do there; if you opt for one!
