I made this card for the Color Challenge of the SCS celebration of the 2008 World Card Making Day. For this challenge, we had to use lime, pale orange, dark gray, black, and a creamy neutral on a card.
I stamped the jack oÂ’lantern on creamy ivory cardstock, colored it with water color pencils, and brushed the edges and around the image faintly with tangerine ink. I matted it in pale tangerine, lime, and black. The card stock is a white core textured stock, so I brushed the edges of each mat in matching ink.
I used the same three colored stocks to make the triple layer punched border. These were all mounted on a background designer paper that brought in the gray. I finished the card off with a matching green bow and an inside greeting that was inked and embossed in black.
I noticed when I uploaded the photos this morning that the lime green doesnÂ’t look as vivid in the picture as it does in real life, but itÂ’s definitely lime green.
