I created this as a sympathy card for a friend whose husband died at the end of August from lung cancer. I feel horrible that I have waited this long. However, I was in a grief group, and I remember one of the members saying that maybe we should wait to send cards for deaths until the mass of people have given theirs. It is then, after about a month, that you feel that everyone has forgotten. So, perhaps, this delay will be a good thing for my friend, who was like a mother to me for so long.
Her husband was one of those guys that continually made you laugh. If you came over at 10 AM, he would ask if you wanted a beer. He volunteered a great deal for the church. What a role model! We moved away about 9 years ago, and it has been hard to stay in touch. I missed most of his illness. His wife is a strong lady, but I know she is missing him greatly.
If you would like to hear about the *ingredients* of this card, please visit my blog. Thanks!

This is really beautiful and I'm sure your friend will truly appreciate the thought behind it- no matter when she receives it. Nicely done. LOVE the velvet ribbon.

Beautiful card! And I don't think it is ever too late! It seems that life should stop for that kind of sorrow, but it just keeps going on, and it is nice to know that someone still realizes how different it is for those who've lost someone they love.
