Here is my card for the MFT Guest Designer Challenge! The challenge was to use paper piecing on a card! I LOVE to paper piece and I LOVE to paper piece on MFT images...they just seem to lend themselves to this technique.
I have always been hesitant to enter this contest...I mean, seriously, have you seen the gorgeous creations the MFT team makes!! WOW!! But, I decided to take a deep breath and give it a go!!
For my card, I didn't want to use *designer paper* for the paper piecing. Instead, I created my own *designer paper* with MFT stamps, and used that to paper piece!! So much fun, but this card took me a looooooooong time to make!!
I started with an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of Whisper White cardstock, and I stamped the flower image from Behind the Scenes with Palette Noir ink. I then used my Copic Markers and colored in the flowers and leaves, and outlined all of the swirls. I then took a piece of 6 X 6 Whisper White cardstock and stamped the polka dot stamp from Behind The Scenes with Regal Rose ink. I used the polka dot pattern for the background behind the girls (wowsa...that was ALOT of cutting!!!), and then the floral pattern for the left dress and the big bag. I also used these patterns for the backgrounds on the card. The other parts of the image were colored with my Copic Markers.
I finished this off with a big polka dot knotted ribbon, lots of piercing and the sentiment on the oval punches.
I had SO much fun making this!!!
Thanks so much for looking!!

Jodi,
What an amazing card. Who is worthy to receive this one? Lucky cat, whoever it is. I swear, just looking at this entry makes me want to hang up my paper-piecing scissors. WOW!
