This is for today's technique lover's challenge, creating a batik effect with a colorwash.
* Nellie, my nest lady is backed by my batik panel. I used re-inkers and water to create an "autumn afternoon" effect. I wanted it to be very subtle, so I didn't use too much ink in the water.
* The main image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.
* I used the foil lids from a coffee cans to make my photo corners. I learned this technique on Sunflowers and Dragonflies Creative Designs blog here: http://www.sunflowers-dragonflies.ca...-rusted-metal/
I then pierced the edges and added brads.
* The final touch was a bunch of twigs from my yard, tied with jute.
This was a fun technique. I'm sure I'll try it again.
