This is gonna date me, but when Kittie sent me the email with the header "Where Have All The Layers Gone", all I had singing in my pea brain was Peter, Paul and Mary's "Where Have All The Flowers Gone".... :-D
Challenge Focus: to create a NO LAYER card any size, any color. The card base is it - no additional layers of cardstock or designer paper at all.
Required Element: Masking - must incorporate masking or reverse masking in some way to create the design.
Restricted Element: No use of the color pink (any shade)
I tried my best to punch my Martha Stewart scallop lace punch through the PTI paper - but the PTI paper is such awesome quality Martha's punch just could not handle it.
So I punched a piece of lighter weight paper, masked the bottom of the cardbase with it, then shot it with an airbrush gun & copic marker . YEAH BAYBEE!!!
finished card size: 4-3/4" square

Cindy - love this! I haven't had good luck with that punch on *any* paper! It always looks raggedy. Blasted punch! I love your birdies, the *gorgeous* ribbon (and oh, how I've enjoyed petting what I got in the mail yesterday .. . thanks!). CUTE!

What an adorably sweet card -- I love it!!! Your air brushed scallop border is amazing!!! WOW!!! I agree, Martha's punches ARE way too wimpy -- I do get mine through the PTI paper with a LOT of weight applied to the punch, and it does sound and feel like it is going to break, but it hasn't yet, and I've used them all a fair amount -- and when they do break, I WILL return them and complain -- Martha needs heftier punches!!!
