This is my submission for IC146, Mondo Plates. Forums at Splitcoaststampers . My final card is based on the leaf plate.
I thought I was going to sit this one out!
I am also glad to see from Mothermark that I am not the only one who had problems with their card today, LOL.
This is probably quite a bit inspired by Jami's (Sgtstamper) fabulous set of wonderful 3x3 cards which I saw on her blog this morning.
I started out with a tall thin DL card, and had gone as far as taking a picture of it when I decided it was a rubbish card.
So, I cut it into a 4 inch square card and it's much better.
The base is blue Bazzill, stamped with one of the stamps from Seeing Spots, and embossed with white EP.
The leaf panel is my second attempt at a leaf plate. I didn't have anything like Swiss cheese plant leaves, so I just used this chestnut, and stamped it with Versafine Olympia Green. Then I scraped some chalk pastel onto the leaves and rubbed it in with my fingers. I sprayed it with fixative, and then coated it with Versamark and 2 layers of clear EP. The little circle is the same stamp as on the blue base, stamped with Versamark and brushed with more chalk.
While it's a vast improvement on card A, I am still not sure about it. But DH says he doesn't just like it a little, he likes it a lot. So all's well that ends well :-)

Sabrina I think this ended very well. I love the mixture of awesome colors. Very nice look. I like the way that chalk pastels give it such a warm feeling. I am so glad that you recreated your creation. TFS

Your DH is right -- I like it a lot, too. Glad you persevered. And I must confess, I never heard of a swiss-cheese plant -- so off to the internet I went. I found it. Thanks for broadening my education today!!!
