Fun card! I would distress it by putting sticky-note masks over the mat around your image layer, then sponging around the edges carefully. I have had to tone-down whiteness on my cards after I have assembled them, so I know masking and sponging works. However, I don't think the white sticks out too much on your card. Look at it tomorrow, and it may look better to you.

I think that the white makes your Santa look so perfectly colored! My favorite thing to distress with his Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink...it's not too dark, and if I make a mistake, at least it doesn't seem to show up too badly!
