I made this card for daily challenge #WT182. I’m a bit late getting to this challenge – I was knee deep in the wedding album for our friends. So while I had put the paper aside for this, I just couldn’t get to it.
The instructions were to use designer paper to make a card. I chose a sheet of glitter paper from K&Co. as the background for my card. I used an Anna Griffin punch for the corners, which I rubbed with Oyster White, Colonial Blue, and Wisteria (Color Box), and Aloe Vera (VersaMagic) so they were brushed with a random variegation of the same colors as the card. I sponged them with embossing ink and dusted them with iridescent embossing powder. Once heat-treated, they have a leathery but sparkling appearance. I attached them with thicket – green brads.
The butterflies were all stamped on vellum with Colonial Blue and then dusted with iridescent embossing powder. Their wings are lightly colored with white and pink watercolor pencils.
Inside the card, I brushed the center of the card the same way I brushed the front decorative corners. I stamped the flourish and greeting in Colonial Blue and embossed with iridescent powder, which I lightly sprinkled over the entire middle of the card,
This is my first “tall card” – okay, long skinny card. Although I had a design already planned out for this card, I got the inspiration to do a “tall card” after I saw LeisaJane’s “Hi Gel Stitches” so it was back to the drawing board. In order to capture the word “butterfly and use it on the card, I had to position the paper lengthwise. I like it better than I thought I would have.
