Well, my intentions were good. I decided I was going to use scraps, and do the sketch challenge. I reached for a lovely piece of Belle Rose.... and that's when it happened! I went off on a different journey.
Has that ever happened to you? This is so not what I normally make, in fact if you look in my gallery, they are not too foo-foo, and pretty clean. Judging by my black fingers, this was not a clean project. I feel like Dr. Frankenstein, because there sure are alot of experiments on this card.
I layered and layered and embossed and layered. The background piece is the Belle Rose paper... (look closely), and then I stamped the Baroque Background stamp over that. Then I clear embossed the diamond pattern. I used Adirondack Espresso dauber paint to paint over just that embossed area, and then wiped off the excess, and that gave it the brown aged look. I used Distress ink Black soot for the edges.
I really layered the heart, by clear embossing the stamped image, then blending in the green color, wiped some Espresso paint on it, and then spritzed it several times with peeled paint/perfect pearls combo. I then used a versamark pen to emboss the entire image numerous times, this is my sad first attempt at the crackle emboss thing! I rubbed in some black soot after I cracked it.
The sentiment background is a SCRAP!!! See I stayed on target..............not! It was from yesterday's card, and then I stamped the french script over that. The background was stamped twice with the French script. Have you ever noticed that you can only stamp some of these backgrounds the longways? If you want to stamp the width of the card it is not wide enough... : ( so I just stamped twice in different directions. The silver cord was an afterthought, but it needed it.
Not what I usually do, and most will probably not like it, but since I Demo'd these products for Rubbernecker Stamps, and got all these cool products, I feel obligated to at least play with them... wink wink! KWIM? I mean it's a tough job but someone has to do iT!
Enjoy!

Well I really like this card! I actually stopped my browsing to read about how you created this card. I am a novice to stamping so I enjoy checking out the variety of cards on SCS. I also have a background in art collage. Keep experimenting! I think it's great.
