Yesterday, I made a card for my Godson Nathan, who is turning 6 on Friday. I made him a card with a rocket on it saying it was the only boyish thing I had to make a card for him. Well, I forgot all about my new stamps I just got from High Hopes Stamps. I got all kinds of cute pirate things. So I decide to make another card for Nathan. I'll let my girls give him the one from yesterday, and this one will be from me.
Well, I tell you, it took me a few to make this one. Between taking the girls to school, going to PT/OT, and picking up the girls from school, I am amazed I got this done this soon.
There is alot to it. I stamped the ship twice, colored it with a combination of Watercolor Pencils and Pure Color Pencils with mineral spirits and SU! Markers, cut out the front sails and bottom waves, and popped them up with demensionals. My 2nd panel, I stamp the wheel and anchor. Then colored them using the Black Magic Technique. For my BG, I stamp the map several times, daubered, and dtressed the edges to make it look kinda like a map. What I did with my twine was ran it through my Chocolate Chip ink to make it a little darker.
This is a big card. It is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.
I really like how this turned out!! I totally love my High Hopes Stamps!!
What do you think??
