My inspiration came from the latest issue of Paper Craft Magazine. Designer Stephanie Hamilton's Haunted Forest Gift Bag caught my eye and I thought it'd make a nice Halloween card. I stamped Impression Obsession's Branches of Trees onto pumpkin CS with black Stazon and again with Going Grey. Using Stampin Up's background stamp Linen and Sable Brown Stazon, I overstamped the panel and a smaller one of Real Rust. Sponged the edges of both panels with Close to Coco. Glued them onto a base of black CS and trimmed the seam with a strip of black CS. I wanted a bat embellishment but I don't own anything like a bat but in my search through what I do have, I spotted Flourishes Sugar N Spice clear stamp set. This set has a partridge and so, I stamped it once on acitate and then smacked that image onto white CS. Then I stamped directly onto the CS to make the opposite wing trying to match the head. It still didn't look like a bat so I took my black marker and filled in some of the wispy swirls and drew on ears and tiny feet. I had to color in the smacked half of the bat because it was lighter than the direct stamped half. IRL it looks the same but my scanner picked it up as two different shades. I tore the bat image and sponged the edges and wrote the sentiments. Mounted it with pop dots.
