My goodness, it took forever for me to get this to go through!! I had this ready since this morning and I am finally able to get it uploaded now at 4:00 pm.
This is for Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge 183 where we were to use something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. It is also for today's Technique Challenge 184 where we were to create Black Magic useing dark card stock, white/vanilla craft ink, prismapencils, and mineral spirits.
Well, I actually started this on Friday. I had just got my new order of High Hopes Stamps and I couldn't wait to use them!! For Friday's challenge, my something new was of course my stamps, my something borrowed was this sketch from Michelle (JustPaintingAround) SC143 Sara's Bday by JustPaintingAround at Splitcoaststampers, and my somthing blue I think you can tell.
I colored everything with my watercolored crayons and my aquapainter except for Diver Dan. I colored him with my pure color pencils and mineral spirits. I embossed Dan's mask with clear ep to give the mask a glass look and I embossed the pearl with iridescent ice to give it a pearly look. I then cut out all the parts and popped them all up with demensionals. I Paper Toled everything!! The piece with Diver Dan I drew myself to match and expand the sand. By the time I got all this done, it was Saturday night!! LOL So much for Friday's challenge!! LOL It's ok though because I had yet to figure out what color cs I wanted to use or what I was gonna use for my something old.
I hoped that today's challenge would be something I could incorporate with my images I had created, and by dog it did!!!
For my something old, I used my sage ep I have had from the beginning, but have never used. As for the black magic, I didn't use craft ink. I chose to use black ink. I hope that is ok. I reversed the images on the left bottom. I used my watercolored pencils with mineral spirits to color in my images and created my sandy bottom. I then went over the outlines with my black SU! marker.
I sooooo love how this turned out so much that I am gonna keep it for myself!! I am gonna frame it and put it up in my bathroom that is decorated in sealife.
What do y'all think??
