This is for FS82 and Niki ...NikiE is our inspiration artist. I knew I would want to do a Riley card as Niki is on the DT and does such darling work. As I scanned down through her darling gallery I came to this Garden Riley card Garden Riley by NikiE at Splitcoaststampers and knew it was my inspiration piece. I kept her layout and used a Riley image but changed from Niki's summer garden scene to a winter Christmas scene. Here is a link to Niki's blog post telling how to make the house. http://mypapercreations.blogspot.com...ge-friday.html
I cut several strips of Bashful Blue cardstock and sponged it lightly with Bordering Blue ink to create a look of siding and overlapped them as I attached them up to the cardfront. I marked the roof line and cut it out with my papercutter. It was a little hard as I had to cut through several layers at once. I measured and cut a white roof top and cut a small piece fof kraft paper for a chimney. I sponged caramel ink on the chimney and then ran through a cb folder to create the look of layed stone. I cut a chimney back and placed on the back so the chimney would have a finished appearance on both sides since it could be seen when opening the card. I attached a little chimney cap to the top and then cut a little piece of white cardstock with victorian decorative scissors to create bit of snow for the chimney top. I cut additional strips of white cardstock with the decorative scissors to surrounded the whole roof line for snow and for a little snowy ground piece. I used a 3/4" square punch to create the little window and attached gingham ribbon to the back for draperies and attached to the side of the house with mounting tape. I stamped Riley and several additional of the tree Riley is holding to add to the scene. I watercolored all the images with reinkers and watercolor brushes, cut out and attached to the house scene. I attached a tiny satin red bow to the base of the window for a bit more holiday feel. This project took lots of time but I had such a wonderful time doing it. Niki, thank you for such a wonderful inspiration piece.
