This is a double challenge inspiration with a sweet purpose. A friend of mine has had a loss in the family and I hope this card will lift her spirit.
This is for a Nimbees challenge of "No Layers." That was kind-of difficult for me. So I kept the base to "no layers" but just couldn't do it on the rest. I know none of the Nimbees will mind. It's all about creativity with those Nimbees gals. Check out their (our) blog and Maria's "No Layer" challenge here...
kokirose is in the spotlight today for the FS Challenge. I LOVE this challenge but rarely get to play as Sundays are usually family days and the other days just get too busy for me to get back to it.
Isn't it gorgeous (kokirose's card, that is?!) I changed the layering of the base (obviously with the Nimbees challenge.) I also eliminated the corner buttons and used brads, moving them in to the inner frame. I really liked all of the scallops kokirose used so I tried to do the same but changing it up a bit. I am LOVIN' SU!'s new scallop punch! I used it on my Kiwi Kiss (3x3.3/4). I decided not to use faux stitching but continued with the paper piercing. Of course I changed the colors as well.
I inked my blossom in Going Gray, rock-n-rolled it in Basic Gray, and added a pencil eraser center inked in Not Quite Navy.
Maria, Joshua 1:9, my friend... wherever you go. Chin up. hugs and more hugs.

Your card is beautiful, I am sure your friend will greatly appreciate receiving it.
I love the colour combo, and how you made the frame with the scalloped punch around the sentiment, like the little scalloped circle embellishment.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to case one of my cards.
Hugs
