I wanted to join in the fun on the CCEE challenge this week to make a card using the old black magic technique. It was fun...I made 2, but this one was the least traditional in colors. It's interesting that the brightest colored pencil shows up a muted rusty color, so I went with so saffron and really rust, not my normal color choices. I was trying to use this odd colored ribbon, so that's why I went with it. The highlights are white gel pen used sparingly to add dimension to the florals.
The butterfly was stamped once, then stamped again on scrap paper, colored in, and popped up on dimensionals over the first one.
Thanks for looking, I think I'll try this technique again sometime soon!

Yikes! New techinique? I'm skeered! It was intimidating to say the least for me, but I love the effect you achieved! This is so pretty- I love your layout too! The brads are the perfect touch to set off the black. Beautiful card Traci!
