To begin with this is an older card my husband kept and I found the other day. I want to say that this rose stamp was the first rubber stamp I purchased years ago. I bring it out occasionally and use because it is real pretty.
The main card is parchment cut into a 4x5 size. It is folded up on itself from the bottom leaving approximately 7/8" inch to fold over the front. The opening of the card is actually at the top.
I cut an oval out of the front folded piece. Then I cut a piece of vellum the size of the card front and silver embossed the rose image. A pink marker was used to color the roses from behind the vellum. It shows through softly. This was then placed behind the card front to show through the opening.
A tiny strip of red liner tape was placed around the oval opening then very tiny silver beads were added to cover the tape.
Tiny scallop scissors were used to trim the flap and 1/16" holes were punched in each scallop. An old silver button (with shank removed) was glued in the center of the flap. A very thin silver cording was doubled and used to actually close the card. In order to open the card, you have to 'untie' it.
Hope you like it. Your comments are appreciated.
