This was my first Joy Fold card! I absolutely love the finished look and will definitely be using this fold again soon.
I made these for Genie's (sissymama2) Dare To Be Different Swap. I love Valentine's Day and chose it because we are allowed to break the fashion faux pas of combining pink and red. LOL
I used Rose Red for the base and Pixie Pink and Pink Passion for the flap (our cards did not have to be identical). This DP pack was a great dollar store find! I traced over the swirls on the outer DP layer with a silver Gelly Roll pen to add a little shine and added some sheer stripe ribbon.
I punched the word "love" from the DP, colored it with a Gelly Roll, layered it on the scallop, and attached all that with white brads to the white circle which was sponged with Rose Red.
I was going to sand the rough edges of the DP (I need a new blade) but liked how they added to the feel of the card. I just hope the recipients agree!?!
Overall I'm happy with them. I would have liked to add dots or faux stitching around the outer layers but, alas, ran out of time. Thanks for looking!! :-)
Overall, I like the cards, but I *really* wanted to add dots or stitching around the borders to finish them off, but alas, I ran out of time.
