This is my submission to TLC180. These spring cards look difficult but they are not... at least not if you follow the very well written directions! I was gone most of the day and only got to start on this late this afternoon, and really it went together very quickly!
I used an OLD stamp from Inkadinkado... proof positive that everything old is new again! Who would have thought that cupcakes and mice would again be THE thing! I stamped it in Stazon Jet Black and colored with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol. I did use dimensional glue that puffs up when heated to make the icing look 3-D. While it was wet I added some sugary glitter. After it dried I added some chunky glue with tiny hears in it that came from Target for Valentines Day. I used yellow stickles for the flame.
The sentiments are both from a My Sentiments Exactly clear mini set. I stamped the Happy Birthday in Stazon Jet Black and the "make a wish" in Wild Wasabi. I used Nesties to cut the panel square and rounded the corners. I cut the scalloped green out of a scrap. The DP is from Provocraft. It is not a thick paper and I was worried about whether it would stand up but it seems to do fine except when the wind blows! LOL!
Fun quick card. I might try this again with a "nice" picture... but my first thought was a fun card for a child. Thinking about Michelle's kids yesterday put kids cards in my mind and I really don't have that many images that are great for kids, so I challenged myselft to find ways to make kids cards.
