Sarah asked me to do a tiger picture for her, so I did. I used my tiger stamp, but reversed it. He is actually facing the opposite way on the stamp.
I stamped him on watercolor paper, then I flipped it over and traced it onto the other side, so he'd be facing the way you see him. I have a light box (made by hubby dear) that has a sheet of opaque white plexiglass on the top of it, and inside the box part under that sheet is a flourescent light. I can see through just about any thickness of paper when I lay it atop that. If you don't have a light box (no, my dear hubby will not make one for you! lol) just use a good old window! Even on a rainy day there's usually enough light to see through paper or cardstock well enough to trace.
I hand drew the leafy background lightly in pencil and then traced my pencil lines in black ink pen.
To color, I used Tombow pens and spread the color with water on a wc brush.
Her mom framed the picture for her daughter. She loved it!

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
