Put on your sunglasses, this is pretty bright. For my second card today, I attempted Luminous Pearls -- first time. Not sure if I like it, but here it is --

Lots of COOL ideas ladies! Thanks for taking the time out of your Thanksgiving to play along. Remember if you don't get time today (like me!) you still have all week.

I did it. I used the Faux Mother of Pearl technique from the Splitcoastsampers web site. I loved working with the luminere. I had white and red luminere. I was kind of happy with my card this time.

Here it is: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0938&nocache=1

Darn! I'm 8 hours away from my stamping stuff and won't be back in full swing until this Monday. There are some really pretty examples on here so far.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Thank you for posting this, Julia. And thanks to Beate for all the tutorial link.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thanks, Julia, for making me get two items off the shelf that I just had to have but never use! Here's my first ever attempt at this particular technique:

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...11062&cat=6648

It's a rare treat for me to do a challenge and I really enjoyed it!

I uploaded a card for this challenge.
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...11703&cat=7724

I came across the Lumiere on sale at Ink & Stamp at Sue's in Galena, IL yesterday! It was 30% off, so of course I snatched it! I got the set with 7 metallics and two opaque colors for $9.45.

I played with applying different color combos to several colors of CS, but I really like the effect on clear transparencies.

I did something a little different. I mixed Duo- Red-Blue Pearl Ex with lumiere first and then I dabbed the plastic wrap into it. I then brayered over with Pretty in Pink (forgot to mention that in my ingredients). Kind of gives a monchromatic look in real life.

Default WT88 Lumiere Challenge

I love working with Lumiere especially on Glossy Card stock with stazon inks. The images are darker than real life. They have the pearlized look to them which is quite nice.

I was gone for the holiday, but couldn't miss out on this challenge. I love the look of lumiere. I wish it scanned better. I just can't capture the shimmer and beauty of it. Here are three of mine:

My Rose

Pansies

Missing Mom

Yuk- this one's a dud! I tried to get the Lumiere to bubble up in the center to look like a luminous sun, but instead it came out like moon craters! The colors are *off* too- the bird is blue and brown, not green. Oh well, enough whining; I spent so much time on this (all that cutting out the leaves on the Vellum) I figured I'd post it anyway. Thanks for looking! And thanks to everyone else for your gorgeous creations! They are very inspiring!

I didn't have Lumiere and I wasn't able to find it, so I used Liquid Pearls and Perfect Pearls.
